Develops, writes, and edits technical training material for manuals, operating procedures, and related technical training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Works with subject matter experts to create training materials. Interviews production and engineering personnel, SME's and reads other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods. Reviews manufacturer's and trade catalogs, drawings, and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service equipment. Studies P&ID's, PFD's, sketches, drawings, specifications, to integrate into procedures, and training materials. Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology using Microsoft templates and Visio drawings. Review published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, and content. Maintains records and files of work and revisions. Selects or creates photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.

KEY COMPENTENCIES: Preferred Petrochemical or Refinery background. Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information to other employees of the organization. Ability to write clearly and informatively. Ability to efficiently edit work for spelling and grammar. Capability to vary writing style to meet needs. Ability to read and interpret written information. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Visio Technical, Image/Photo editing applications and Documentum. Working knowledge of document scanning hardware and software.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school, or 5-9 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Highly Preferred Petrochemical or Refinery background.
